Cleaning your office space should be an integral part of your routine. People organize and clean their homes on a regular basis, so why not treat your office the same way? Whether you are working from home or in a commercial space, you still should treat the area with the same care. You sit in an office area on a daily basis whether you are working, playing games, or doing other tasks. Here are some tips and tricks to help you maintain a clean office space.

Organizing Your Space

Ensuring your space is cleared off and not cluttered makes an instant change! If you have papers and items all over your deskspace, it leads to more stress. Not being able to find documents or notes that you might need easily can cause you to become more disorganized. Invest in folders, storage containers, and other office items that can help keep your space cleared. Having a place for everything you deal with on a daily basis will help to keep your space and mind clear!

Eating At Your Desk

As easy as it is to drag your lunch to your desk, avoid doing this! Many people will eat and work as they go, but this can cause more debris and messes to develop on your desk. It's also more sanitary to have a designated space for food. Eat in your kitchen, break room, or somewhere else that is an area specifically for making meals. This will help to keep your computer, accessories, and other items clean and without any spills.

Daily Wipe Downs

During this time, it's extremely important to sanitize the areas you live in. If you work from home, it's much easier to keep the space clean and sanitized because you can do it yourself. If you are working from an office, you can always ensure you're maintaining the space and wiping it down. Keeping sanitizing wipes on hand can help you when you're working in a commercial space to wipe it down regularly. This keeps your environment healthier and free of as many germs then if you were to not wipe it down routinely.

Clear & Clean Your Accessories

As mentioned above, it's important to wipe down your desk and other surrounding areas. However, don't forget to wipe down your computer screen, keyboard, mouse, and any other electronics you used regularly. You might have to buy another type of cleaner for this, but it's important to keep this sanitized as well. Cleaning companies for a business don't usually target these areas, so whether you work from home or in an office, these often don't get touched.

To help keep the space organized, you can also zip-tie the wires together to clear more space. This immediately adds more space to your area for your documents, notes, and other items. It makes cleaning easier in the long run and keeps it looking organized longer.

Take Out the Trash

This may seem like something simple, but if you don't have a cleaning service at your business, take out your trash on a regular basis. Throw away or organize documents that you no longer need, and routinely throw everything away. This allows you to maintain your desk space because you aren't allowing anything to clutter and sit there but instead throwing it away.
